When One Act of Generosity Multiplies
Because of the generosity of Canadore supporters, 145 students are receiving $1,000 bursaries to help them continue their education at Canadore College.
Funded through the annual President’s Club Dinners hosted by the Canadore College Foundation, these bursaries provide direct support to students facing rising costs related to tuition, housing, transportation, and daily living. For many, this support relieves immediate financial pressure and helps them stay focused on their studies.
The impact of the evening reflected generosity in many forms, from ticket sales and table purchases to auction items and personal pledges. Each contribution combined to create meaningful opportunities for students.
Near the end of the evening, one moment captured that spirit perfectly. Foundation Board member, Jennifer Twigg, shared that a neighbour, upon hearing about the dinner, pledged $1,000 toward a student bursary. Jennifer matched the gift and invited others to join. What followed was an immediate response, with more than 25 additional $1,000 pledges which pushed the evening’s total to $145,000. This impact reflects not only the generosity of the 2025 President’s Club Dinner but also the continued support and momentum built through previous dinners.
For students, the impact goes beyond financial relief. It can mean staying enrolled, reducing work hours, and continuing their education with greater confidence and stability.
This is the power of a community rallying around students. Through one evening and many shared acts of generosity, donors unlocked opportunity for 145 students. As student needs continue to evolve, this collective commitment remains essential to ensuring access and success at Canadore College.
The next President’s Club Dinner is scheduled for April 17, 2026.
